That happened to one of the original “Charlie’s Angels” when she apparently got a facelift about six years ago. Kate Jackson, now 62, created a buzz about the changed shape of her eyes and her windswept look at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2006.
In contrast, Jaclyn Smith, another of the original TV series stars, retains her striking looks at age 65 without drastic changes even from the hands of time.
The third star of the 1976-81 series, Farrah Fawcett, died of cancer in 2009.
Members of the second, younger trio of “Charlie’s Angels” from the movies of 2000 and 2003 have mostly steered clear of cosmetic procedures, leaving their faces little changed by doctors or a decade of aging. Here’s a summary, with further details and many more photos awaiting you in a slide show.
KATE JACKSON

Jackson battled cancer in the late 1980s, as Fawcett did, and had a partial mastectomy followed by a restorative breast augmentation.
But it was her changed face in 2006 that attracted the most notice.
“She appears to be very tight around the eyes and her forehead looks elevated,” plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston of New York told the Make Me Heal website. “It is likely that had a brow lift and a blepharoplasty [eyelid surgery] to achieve this look.”
Others were more critical and less clinical about Jackson, who starred in the TV series “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” in the 1980s.
“She is looking awfully different and mighty surprised, which is most likely attributed to plastic surgery,” said the Plastic Celebrity Surgery blog.
“Jackson doesn’t look 58. But she doesn’t look quite normal, either,” SheKnows.com said in 2006.
“Her facelift also didn’t come out too great, as her skin looks too tight and pulled, almost like she’s wearing a mask of her own face,” said Celebrity Plastic Surgery.
Jackson most recently had a guest role in the TV series “Criminal Minds” in 2007.
JACLYN SMITH

In contrast to Jackson, Smith has maintained her looks with little or no apparent medical assistance.
For some plastic surgeons, that’s evidence that she did have plastic surgery – at the hands of a master.
“I’ve always said that good plastic surgery is so good that you can’t tell it’s been done,” says plastic surgeon and blogger Dr. Tony Youn of Michigan. “She doesn’t have any of the telltale signs of plastic surgery … except that her age gives her away. In my opinion, that’s good work.”
His theory is that Smith had a subtle facelift, plus injections of her own fat to keep her face plump.
Others speculate that all three original Angels had laser skin treatments, injections of filler to smooth the lines between the nose and mouth, possibly Botox to smooth their foreheads, and perhaps surgery to keep their jawlines smooth.
A few years ago, when she was asked about plastic surgery, Smith said, “Well, I’m never going to say never. I don’t like when you are just so pulled. That’s obsessive, and I think anytime you are desperate and obsessive it’s not attractive. …I am not against plastic surgery; I’m a little frightened of surgery in itself.”
Smith most recently appeared in a guest role last year on the TV series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
LUCY LIU

The oldest of the new trio of Angels, Lucy Liu is 42, with no signs of cosmetic intervention except occasional reports that she uses Botox to keep her skin smooth.
She doesn’t even get facials, peels or dermabrasion. She also avoid coffee for fear that it might affect her skin.
In a recent interview, she said, “I think caffeine can be really bad for your skin. And I don’t get facials, ever. … I think they damage your skin. People are getting peels and dermabrasion, and anything with the word “abrasion” doesn’t work for me. I also think a lot of plastic surgery hurts your skin.”
She worked behind the scenes in the new movie “Kung Fu Panda 2,” providing the voice for the character “Viper,” and is currently working on several movie roles.
CAMERON DIAZ
At 38, Cameron Diaz is the one of the most active of the Angels. She is also the only one who has acknowledged having plastic surgery.
In her case, that was a nose job that she underwent after breaking her nose four times in surfing accidents.
“[Bleep] just finds my face — it’s crazy!” she says.
Beyond that, she says she won’t have plastic surgery for cosmetic improvements even though she wishes her body were a bit different.
“I’d love a bigger butt, more meat on my bones. I’d love to be more voluptuous.” But she admits, “It’s just not my body type.”

She’s not bothered by the signs of aging, she says.
“I feel so much more attractive now. A thousand percent. I’m appreciating my skin and my wrinkles and all those things.”
On aging, she says, “The only way to stop it is if you die. But that’s not a great alternative.”
Among films currently in theaters, she appears in “Green Hornet” and “Bad Teacher.” She is working on the film “Gambit,” scheduled for release next year.
DREW BARRYMORE
The youngest of the Angels, Drew Barrymore is 36 and an opponent of plastic surgery.
“I just know it’s a slippery slope, and everybody’s starting to look a little waxy lately. I’m going to do everything I can not to go down that road,” she says.
She even says she would rather look like a “basset hound” than get plastic surgery.
Those comments apparently refer to facial cosmetic procedures, since Barrymore reportedly had breast-reduction surgery in her late teenage years.
Barrymore admits that lighting and creative photography are crucial to maintaining a celebrity’s image.
She told an interviewer, “there is some lighting where I absolutely resemble Shamu. People have to know that you pick the best pictures where the lighting is beautiful and the angles are right and the body positions are gorgeous. And then, guess what, you turn, sit, hit the wrong light, and your belly flaps over and we all look human again.”
As for aging, she says, “I’m so curious as to what’s going to happen naturally that I can’t imagine wanting to alter things just yet.”
